From December 5-7, 2024, Sisters of Code proudly participated in the Cambodia ICT Camp 2024, organized by Open Development Cambodia in the scenic Siem Reap Province.
This dynamic event brought together ICT enthusiasts, innovators, and changemakers from Cambodia and across ASEAN, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. Seizing this exciting opportunity, on December 6, 2024, Sisters of Code delivered a standout workshop session titled: "Generative AI for Gen Z: Inspiring the Next Generation of AI Creators to Enhance Lifelong Learning for All."
The session was led by Ms. Sung Monet, a Cambodian tech enthusiast committed to advancing female participation in AI development. And we were thrilled to welcome 78 participants to our workshop, with 27 women actively joining the discussion.
During the one-hour session, we explored the profound impact of Generative AI—both its positive and negative implications—on our daily lives, education, professional environments, and the world around us. The engagement from participants was exceptional, with numerous thought-provoking responses and ideas shared throughout the session.
This workshop was not just a presentation but a collaborative and interactive platform, designed to encourage open dialogue and foster deeper learning. Participants felt empowered to share their thoughts, contributing to a rich and engaging discussion that sparked further interest in the subject matter.
The feedback from our post-survey further demonstrates the success of the session. 62.5% of respondents reported that their understanding of AI tools had been "Much improved," while 37.5% felt their understanding had become "A little better." This indicates that the workshop was highly effective in both enhancing knowledge and sparking curiosity about AI.
