A Year of Inspiration and Achievements

2024 has been a year of milestones for us. We have seen our educational programs—Sisters of Code Ambassadors, Sisters of Code Club, and the Employment Skills Program—grow and make a real difference in the lives of many young women. From inspiring workshops to providing free technical courses, our mission to bridge the gender and skills gap in tech education has gained momentum.

Key Highlights

Programs Implementation

In 2024, we successfully implemented three flagship programs: the Sisters of Code Ambassadors, Sisters of Code Club, and the Employment Skills Program.

  1. Sisters of Code Ambassadors

In January 2024, we received an overwhelming 100 applications, from which 30 students were selected. Through a combination of intensive online and offline classes, students acquired skills in coding, website development, game development, programming, and other essential areas like project management and leadership to be able to launch Sisters of Code clubs in their communities. 10 students were selected to lead their own clubs and mentor more young women, applying the skills they’ve learned during the program. We are glad that additionally to Phnom Penh, students from 17 provinces have joined the clubs both online and in person.

  1. Sisters of Code Clubs

In 2024, the Sisters of Code Club Program received 276 applications, from which 158 students were selected to join our classes. Following graduation, 99% of students responded to our survey, reporting a significant increase in their confidence to utilize their digital skills in their studies and careers. This strong feedback serves as a testament to our efforts to make a lasting impact on young women and promote inclusive tech education.

  1. Employment Skills Program

The new program that was launched for the first time was targeting female university students with an aim to prepare for better employment possibilities in digital economy. Our program offers two free technical courses: Website Development & UX/UI Design and Digital Entrepreneurship & Digital Marketing.

For the Website Development & UX/UI Design course, we have received 342 applications and selected 60 students. Out of those, 51 students successfully completed the program and graduated. As for the Digital Entrepreneurship & Digital Marketing course, we had 167 applications, with 30 students selected, and 29 of them proudly graduated.

All of these programs were made possible through the generous support of the Liechtenstein Development Service (LED), who play a key role in supporting our efforts and helping expand this initiative to reach more young women.

Advocacy Event Implementation

To inspire young women to pursue tech education and careers, Sisters of Code hosted free public workshops featuring women professionals from the tech field.
