H.E. Mrs. Dominique Hasler, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Education and Sport from Liechtenstein, Meets Sisters of Code Programs in Phnom Penh.
On March 1st, 2024, Sisters of Code in Cambodia hosted Her Excellency Dominique Hasler, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Education, and Sport from Liechtenstein. This marked Hasler's first official visit to Cambodia to establish official partnerships between the 2 countries.
Upon arrival, the minister was warmly welcomed by the Sisters of Code community at IT Academy STEP Cambodia Institute. For many students, it was the first time to meet such a high-ranking official and learn about Liechtenstein.
During her visit, Hasler learned about several key Sisters of Code initiatives:
This 15-week free coding course provides training to Cambodian women and girls over the age of 17. Through hands-on instruction, students gain vital computer programming skills.
Graduate students from the Ambassador Program go on to lead their own Sisters of Code Clubs. These 18-week programs allow the ambassadors to teach coding to girls ages 12-18 in their local communities.
The newest offering is an employment skills program for 3rd and 4th-year university students. Participants can specialize in website development, UX/UI design, digital entrepreneurship, or digital marketing.
Hasler and the Sisters of Code students discussed the importance of technology education, especially for women and girls. Mrs.Hasler highlighted that Lichtenstein is committed to supporting educational activities in Cambodia and she also can see new opportunities to collaborate between Sisters of Code and Liechtenstein's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Education and Sport. Sisters of Code has already started a partnership with Liechtenstein Development Service, which supports the Sisters of Code activities in Cambodia in 2024-2026.

The visit represents a positive step in efforts to support more Cambodian girls pursuing technology careers. Through partnerships with other nations, Sisters of Code can expand its impactful programs across the region, improve the quality of training programs, and connect young female students to international programs.
